Improving the quality of health care and rehabilitation for the elderly is one of the most important priorities of the health care system. Given the importance of evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of any program after its implementation, this study was conducted to identify the advantages and weaknesses of a geriatric nursing program at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. This was a qualitative study, and the study population comprised students, graduates, and professors of geriatric nursing at the Master of Science level.
Bearing this in mind, we revised our established Master of Nursing Science curriculum at the University of Basel, Switzerland. Guided by the Advanced Nursing Practice framework, interprofessional guidelines, fundamental reports on the future of health care and the Bologna declaration, the reform process included three interrelated phases: preparation work packages WPs : curriculum analysis, alumni surveyrevision WPs: program accreditation, learning outcomesand regulations WPs: legal requirements, program launch. It was implemented in the fall semester.

The course is offered in term 6 of the nursing programme. Clinical placement consists of 6 credits: 5 credits Health sciences with focus on nursing and 1 credit Medical science. The subjects are integrated. The course aims to that the student will acquire advanced knowledge in specific and general nursing and medical science in geriatric care and care of older people.

Health promotion for the elderly: gerontogeriatric nursing commitment. This article had the purpose of reviewing the history of health policies for the elderly, initially using international health conferences, and then national policies, correlating them with the loss of power usually attributed to the elderly population. Nola Pender's health promotion model was used to interconnect the themes, resulting in empowerment as a health promotion strategy for the elderly.
